Well first off. I better tell you the prizes.

THE ENDING DATE IS - MARCH 1ST 2006

So yeah, otherwise I’m poor. Hence why there are not any actual cash prizes.
Instead I do have a extra pair of Life Triwings for Furcadia. This is where you
portrait-making people come in. To make a long drawn out explanation short,
basically you make a remapable portrait, following the few simple rules, and
you will be graded on that portrait. Here is some of the information you will be
needing.

Rules + Need to Know.

1.) The portrait that you make must be remapable. I’m sure I don’t really
need to explain that.

2.) The portrait you can choose to make will consist of the information I list
of the different characters. That’s right, you get to choose which character you
would like to make a portrait of. That way, if your better at feral, do feral, if not,
do furre. Either way you get to make a choice.

3.) When you are finished with your portrait, you will need to send it to me in
the remapable state. Thus I’ll be able to grade it. I’d prefer all ports be sent to
me in the .FSH file format.

4.) Yes you are allowed to make more then one portrait. You can even do it
of the same character if you like. Each port you make will be considered to each
be a entry. Same as if one person decides to only make one port. (Yeah, that
makes your odds better. But since your willing to do the extra work, that’s the
bonus you get.)

5.) If you submit your portrait to DA, then please link back to the contest.
Basically linking back to this main journal is fine. Something of along the lines
of “Made for Mychelle’s Portrait Contest – (LinkHere)” would work fine as well.

6.) I will need to have at least between 10 to 15 entries before I will state
a ending date for the contest. It isn’t much of a contest if only 5 people try.
Once I get between that number of entries, I’ll post up a date for the ending
of the contest. If only, say 5 people enter, I'll more then likely just close the contest.

What you will be graded on.

1.) First and for-most I’ll be grading you on how well the portrait is done.
This includes how well the portrait remaps, and if there are any stray pixels.
(Thus is why I need it in remap form, I’ll be testing it on basically all the
different Furcadia colors. Including the ones that are hard to remap, you
know, like the hair n’stuff. Black fur, indigo hair, ect.)

2.) I’ll also be grading it on how close to the design of the character you
were able to get to. And how the character is portrayed. It does not matter
if you do a simple one, or a hard one. Even the simple ones can be graded
on how the character looks in the portrait.

3.) One word. Creativity. How the pose of the character is, the background,
ect. If you do a simple ‘ol head-shot, then yeah, you might not be graded too
high in this area. And yes, this does mean if you do a hard one and work on
all of the small details, you might just get graded higher.

These are the three things you will be graded on. I myself will be grading the
portraits, along with a few other judges I have chosen. Those being Benethar,
Josh, and Hamlet. More judges will be listed as they are found to want to judge. Heh.

characters you can choose from to make a port from. Don’t worry, it’s a
pretty lengthy list! I wanted to make sure that everyone and everyone’s
style would have at least one they could do.

Remember, it isn’t about who wins. Its about having fun with your art,
attempting new things, and all that lovey-dovey stuff! This isnt about who
is better at port-making then who, its about being new and creative.

Contest Started - January 4th, 2006

UPDATE 01/07/06 - Wow, I am so glad to see so many people turning stuff in! It really
makes this contest worth while. Up at the top I stated once I got about
10-15 entires I'd state a ending date, and now we are already at 15! So
I have decided to not state an ending date just yet, because I know alot of
you out there still want to get at least one entry in, and I want to make sure
that at least everyone who wants to join in, can have enough time to at least
get one entry in. So thats right, I am giving everyone more time! Continue
to have fun, and already I know there will be a tough decision towards the
end, so many nice portraits already sent in. <3 Can't wait to see more,
have fun people!

UPDATE 01/24/06Well we now have enough entires to really call this a contest. Heh.
So guess what people? An ending date has now been decided. -drum roll-

THE ENDING DATE IS - MARCH 1ST 2006

Thats right. Im giving everyone who just needs more time at least one more
month to finish. That I believe is more then enough time for you few who
want to get that one last entry in. I will be taking entires on the 1st of March,
but after 12am that night, and it offically is the 2nd I will not take any more
entires after that time period. (Just wouldnt be fair to all the other people.)
So feel free to take your time, you still have a month to work out what you
want to do. Thanks to everyone who has entered so far!

To those of you who have not gotten around to sending me the remapable
version of your portrait, please send the re-map version to MychelleKitten@msn.com
You gotta make sure to send me the remap if you want your entry to count,
since that is apart of the judging.

UPDATE 02/09/06 Just so that everyone knows, just incase they
didnt. If you do not want your portrait used, and you would like to re-sell it, as
long as it is not one of the actual descriptive characters listed then that is
perfectly fine. If you wish to re-sell or use for yourself the portrait you made,
and it is actually of the descriptive kind, then all you'll need to do is edit it
slightly to where it is not excatly like the descriptive character that you did it
of. If you wish to re-sell a portrait that you made for this contest, then simply
state that you rather keep it for yourself.

UPDATE 03/02/06The contest is now closed! Judging will begin as
soon as possible, so please be patient. <3 I did get two last entries right at
11pm from Smurf, so I'll be adding those when I get back from college today.

UPDATE 03/13/06 Just wanna give out a apology for the long time it is
taking to judge. I have apparently gotten sick with a sinus infection even though
I tried my best to avoid it. I'll get to going through these entires, and adding the
3 that I got right before the deadline as soon as possible. EXTREME apologies
people, its just hard to get off your ass and do anything when you can barely
breathe. ;.;

UPDATE 03/20/06 Well, here are all the entries finally. Sorry again
folks for being sick. I will be making a seperate journal showing the people
who will be moving on to the judging. Please everyone to be sure to check that
journal and if your entry is still listed to reply to that journal with the furcadia
character you'd want the tri-wings sent to. This way, when the judging is complete
I can automatically send over the winning prize, it'll be a surprise that way to
whoever wins. I want to again make sure that I give a big thank-you out there to
everyone who has attempted to make this contest as good as it has been. Your
all wonderful artists! Now Im gonna run and get to making that new journal for the
